Our latest success !! Ch Anshun Shadia wins Best of Breed at the pretigeous Royal Queensland Show in Brisbane

Shadia was bred by Richard Costen & handled by Anne Costen. She is owned & loved by Margaret Burgess of Burgious Pugs Mt Perry Qld.

Her sire is Ch Birsay Swift And Sure & her dam is Saxten Tiaroa.

Shadia aka "Missy" has only recently given birth to her first litter which makes her win all the more special. We look forward to having one of her babies out in the ring here in Tasmania very soon.

2006 Show Review.

 

Due to a large amount of commitments I have been unable to update the latest news on this blog, so I am listing below the highlights of the 2006 for us here at SAXTENPUGS !

January.

Our first shows here in Tasmania were quite differant to the shows we attended in Queensland, much smaller. Generally just two judges instead of seven. The competion here is also smaller in number and the quality of exhibits seems to vary quite a bit. Many breeds are either not represented or just a few exhibits / exhibitors.

We started off by only getting reserve CC`s, but at the Burnie Kennel Club second show we went Best in Group with Saxten Tamboreen Man, this show saw him titled !!!!!

Our Gr Ch bitch Star also got Reserve to Best fo Breed & her class in show. The judge was  Mr E Soti from Sth Aust, he is a Pug owwner & breeder . This type or result is very pleasing to have the quality of your dogs recognised by another Pug Breeder.

 

Ulverstone Kennel Club

Set by the river mouth this show is always a pleasure to show at for its scenic qualities  alone.

Tamboren Man again got Best of breed, and Patrea [Ch Pugholme Petria] got the bitch CC & runner up.

March

Two shows this month at Tas Ladies KC bith judges were PUG specialists. Under MR Tan Oo Hok Malaysia Dog CC Ch Birsay Swift And Sure [Roger], & Inter in Group ,bitch CC &  best of breed went to Gr Ch Saxten Star

Sunday saw Gr Saxten Star being awarded Res in Group under Brenda Banbury , Roger also took dog cc, & runner up to best of breed. Brenda has a couple of weeks before this show judged 'Best in Show" at Crufts. It was an honour to be awarded by this judge, Dusty was the only Pug she put up in group on her visit down under. It was dissapointing to see certain exhibitors not showing under real specialist judges !

 

April

No other show the previous month close enough for us to attend, however we had a double header at Western Tiers

Under Mr Geoff Love of NSW Tamboreen Man got Runner up in Group with Petria taking bitch CC.

The following day under Mrs G Alexander [Vic] Petria was awarded Best in Group and Tamboreen Man was dog CC Petria also got  Aust Bred in Show

Challenge Dog, Best of Breed,Austrlian Bred in Group & Best in Group !

 Saxten Tamboreen Man

This was the final CC he required for the title " Australian Champion" He also went on to get Australian Bred in Show

Bitch Challenge and Runner Up to Best of Breed and Open in Group

Grand Champion Saxten Star.
